ExtraMovies: Hollywood, Bollywood, South Indian and Punjabi movies, where quality matters

ExtraMovies is the home for people who love movies from everywhere: a Hollywood blockbuster on Friday, a Bollywood classic on Saturday, a Telugu spectacle on Sunday and a Punjabi comedy whenever you need a laugh. Every title sits on a clean white page with a black strip naming its language, a yellow star with its rating, and a Watch Now button that opens it on the services carrying it in your country, many of them with Hindi audio for the Hollywood films.

This page is the long guide. It explains the layout, then walks through the shelves: Hollywood and the films people love to watch in Hindi, Bollywood from Sholay to Dhurandhar, the South Indian blockbusters, Punjabi cinema, the animated favourites and the TV shows, and finally the tools that make watching easy. Jump to any part below.

The name and the 2017 site

ExtraMovies was one of the best-known names for film fans in India. The site lived at extramovies.in and extramovies.org, and its logo showed a camera operator behind a film camera on a tripod, the word EXTRAMOVIES with a smiling O, and a black bar underneath carrying the promise Where Quality Matters.

The front page from August 2017 is the one people remember: a white header with a blue-framed search box, a teal menu reading Dual Audio Movies, Bollywood Movies, Hollywood Movies and Animated Movies, and a grid of posters, each with a black strip on top and the rating and year underneath. Hollywood was the biggest shelf, Bollywood came next, and South Indian, Punjabi and a handful of other languages filled out the sidebar.

This ExtraMovies brings that look back, keeps that mix of languages, and builds a proper catalogue underneath: a page for every title, the story, the stars and the rating, and a Watch Now button that leads to the licensed services in your country.

White, teal and the blue search frame

The page is bright and simple, just like the original. The header is white, with the camera-operator logo on the left and, on the right, the search box inside a thick blue frame with a square Go button. Under it runs the teal menu in white capital letters, with My List picked out in orange, the way the old site coloured its Movie Request link.

A light grey bar sits under the menu with smaller links in grey capitals: TV Shows, Punjabi, Top IMDb, Trending, the A-Z List, Years, the Official App and Help, and New in 2026 in red at the end. Below that, the page splits in two: the posters on the left and the sidebar on the right.

Every section starts with a dark grey heading bar with the title in white, centred. The footer at the very bottom is black with soft grey writing.

The menu, the grey bar and the drawer

The teal menu keeps the order of the original. The little house takes you home. Dual Audio opens the guide to watching Hollywood films in Hindi. Bollywood Movies, Hollywood Movies, South Indian and Animated Movies open the four big shelves, and My List opens the titles you saved.

The grey bar underneath holds everything else: the TV Shows shelf, the Punjabi shelf, the Top IMDb page, Trending, the A-Z List of every title, the Years page, the Official App guide, Help, and the New in 2026 shelf.

On a phone, the menus fold behind the three lines at the top right, and the search box stretches across the screen under the logo, so it is always one tap away.

Reading a poster

Every poster tells you three things before you click. The black strip on top names the language and type: English Movie, Hindi Movie, Telugu Movie, Punjabi Movie, or TV Series with the number of seasons. The black strip underneath carries the rating with a yellow star on the left and the year on the right. The title and year sit below the poster.

The rating is the TMDB audience score out of ten. A brand-new release that has only just come out shows New in place of a score until enough people have rated it.

Point at a poster and its title turns blue; the whole card is one link.

The sidebar

The sidebar on the right is where the original kept its shortcuts, and this one does the same. Genres comes first: every genre in the catalogue, from Action to Western, each with a small black pill showing how many titles it holds. Languages comes next, English, Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi and more, again with their counts.

Then comes Release Year, a grid of dark maroon buttons with soft lettering, running from this year back to 1990, with Older for everything before. Help closes the sidebar with the most useful guides.

On a phone, the sidebar moves below the posters, so the grid comes first and the shortcuts follow.

Latest Movies

The front page opens with Latest Movies: twenty-four films sorted by release date, newest first. Whatever came out most recently is at the top left, so the grid changes as new films arrive. Right now it is full of this year's releases from Hollywood and India.

Under the feed come the shelves: Hollywood Movies, Bollywood Movies, South Indian Movies, Punjabi Movies, Animated Movies, TV Shows, Coming in 2026 and Help, with this guide at the very end.

The Latest Movies page carries the full list, and the pager under the feed leads straight to it.

A title page

Open any title and its page starts with a dark heading bar carrying the name and year. The poster sits on the left with its language strip on top and its rating strip underneath, just like on the grid. Beside it come the title, the genres as small tags, the story, and two buttons: the blue Watch Now and the dark Add to My List.

Under the buttons, the details table lists the original title, the language, the release date, the runtime, the stars, the director, the country and the studio. For a TV show, the Seasons and Episodes box lists every season with its dated episodes.

Further down, Where to Watch lets you pick your country, and You May Also Like suggests eight more titles in the same genres.

Dual audio, explained

Dual Audio was the first item in the original menu, and it is first here too, because so many people enjoy Hollywood in Hindi. A dual audio film carries two soundtracks, usually the original English and a Hindi dub, and you choose between them.

The big services in India, Netflix, Prime Video and JioHotstar among them, carry Hindi audio on a large share of their Hollywood films, and often Tamil and Telugu tracks as well. Start the film, open the Audio and Subtitles menu, and pick Hindi.

The Dual Audio guide has the steps for every app and every screen, from phones to smart TVs.

Hollywood favourites in Hindi

Some Hollywood films are family favourites across India, and most of them are easy to find with Hindi audio. Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War are the biggest, followed by Spider-Man: No Way Home, Avatar, Avatar: The Way of Water and Jurassic World Rebirth.

Action fans reach for John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, 6 Underground and Bullet Train, and the whole family gathers for The Lion King, Frozen II and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Open any of them, press Watch Now for India, and the list shows which services carry it; the audio menu inside the app shows the languages on offer.

Fast and Furious

The Fast and Furious films are among the most searched Hollywood titles in India, and the favourites are all here. Fast Five turned the street-racing series into a heist franchise, with Dwayne Johnson joining the family in Rio de Janeiro. Fast & Furious 6 takes the crew to London, and The Fate of the Furious sends them from Havana to the ice of Russia.

Fast X brings Jason Momoa in as the villain for the final chapters. Search fast and furious with a number and the right film comes straight up.

For more car action, F1 puts Brad Pitt behind the wheel of a Formula One car, and Top Gun: Maverick takes the speed to the sky.

Marvel

The Marvel films are best watched in order. The story starts with Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man 2, brings the heroes together in The Avengers, and builds through Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War.

Then come Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther, leading to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. After the finale come Spider-Man: Far From Home, Black Widow, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Captain America: Brave New World.

Deadpool, Deadpool 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine are the rowdy side, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives this year.

Batman, Superman and DC

On the DC side, Christopher Nolan's trilogy is the gold standard: Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. The Batman gave Gotham a darker detective, and Joker told the villain's own story.

Man of Steel and Wonder Woman launched the modern DC heroes, Superman started a new chapter in 2025, and this year brings Supergirl. The Suicide Squad and Black Adam round out the shelf.

The Superhero Movies shelf gathers Marvel and DC together, with Arrow, The Flash and Smallville from television.

Christopher Nolan and big ideas

Christopher Nolan's films are some of the most rewatched on the site. Inception follows a thief who steals secrets from dreams, Interstellar sends astronauts through a wormhole to save humanity, and Oppenheimer tells the story of the man who built the atomic bomb. This year brings The Odyssey, his take on Homer's epic.

For more big ideas, The Matrix, Blade Runner 2049, Dune, Dune: Part Two and The Martian are the modern science-fiction greats, and Project Hail Mary arrives this year.

The Sci-Fi and Fantasy shelf gathers them all.

Hollywood classics

The Hollywood classics are here for anyone building their film education. The Godfather, The Godfather Part II and The Godfather Part III tell the Corleone saga. The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and Forrest Gump are the films everyone recommends.

Pulp Fiction, GoodFellas, Scarface, Taxi Driver and Se7en are the crime greats, Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan the war films, and Titanic the romance that ruled the box office for years.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, A Clockwork Orange, Apocalypse Now and 2001: A Space Odyssey complete the list of films that changed cinema.

Hollywood dramas and thrillers

The modern Hollywood dramas are some of the most rewarding films on the site. Martin Scorsese brings The Departed, Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street and Killers of the Flower Moon, and Quentin Tarantino brings Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood.

Whiplash follows a young drummer and his ferocious teacher, Gone Girl a marriage full of secrets, and The Imitation Game the codebreaker Alan Turing. The Truman Show, Dead Poets Society and Catch Me If You Can are the warm favourites, Hacksaw Ridge and Fury the war stories, and Everything Everywhere All at Once the multiverse adventure that swept the Oscars.

Gladiator, Troy and Kingdom of Heaven bring the historical epics.

Hollywood comedy

For laughs, The Hangover and White Chicks are the rewatch favourites, Mean Girls the high-school classic and Barbie the pink phenomenon of 2023. The Devil Wears Prada returns this year with The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Knives Out is the comedy mystery with a twist in every room, Kingsman: The Secret Service the spy film with a wink, and Ted 2 and No Strings Attached the lighter picks.

Most Hollywood comedies come with Hindi audio and subtitles on the big services in India, and the Comedy shelf mixes them with the Bollywood and Punjabi comedies, so a whole family with different tastes can find something to share on a Sunday evening.

Eighties and nineties action

The action films of the eighties and nineties still feel huge. The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day made Arnold Schwarzenegger a legend, and Predator sent him into the jungle. Die Hard put Bruce Willis in a skyscraper, and First Blood introduced Rambo.

Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom are pure adventure, Back to the Future and Back to the Future Part II pure fun, and Top Gun pure eighties. Star Wars started it all in 1977, and Jaws invented the summer blockbuster.

Aliens and Alien bring the science-fiction scares, and Spaceballs the laughs.

Horror

For a scary night, The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2 are the modern favourites, based on the case files of two real paranormal investigators. The Shining, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Fly and Night of the Living Dead are the classics that shaped the genre.

This year is packed with new horror: Resident Evil, Evil Dead Burn, Insidious: Out of the Further, Lee Cronin's The Mummy, Backrooms and Obsession. Fall is the thriller that will make your palms sweat, two climbers stuck on top of a radio tower.

From India, Tumbbad is the folk-horror masterpiece everyone should see.

Pixar and Disney

Animated Movies was one of the four big shelves on the original menu, and it is one of the best loved here. From Pixar come Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4, with Toy Story 5 arriving this year, plus Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., The Incredibles, Ratatouille, WALL·E, Up, Inside Out, Inside Out 2 and Coco.

From Disney come The Lion King, Tangled, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, Zootopia 2, Frozen II and Moana 2, with this year's live-action Moana.

They are perfect with Hindi audio for younger viewers, and the Animated Movies shelf gathers them all.

More animated favourites

DreamWorks brings Shrek, Shrek Forever After, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and The Wild Robot. Illumination brings Despicable Me, The Lorax, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and this year's Minions & Monsters and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

KPop Demon Hunters became the animated hit of 2025, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse reinvented what animation can look like, and Coraline and Corpse Bride are the gothic favourites.

From China, Ne Zha and Ne Zha 2 are two of the biggest animated films ever made, and from Pakistan, The Glassworker is a hand-drawn gem.

Harry Potter, Middle-earth and the Pirates

The great sagas are all here. Harry Potter runs from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets through Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Middle-earth has The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

This year is a big one for Hollywood. Spider-Man: Brand New Day brings Tom Holland back, The Odyssey is Nolan's epic, Project Hail Mary sends Ryan Gosling into space, and The Mandalorian and Grogu takes the Star Wars pair to the cinema. Marvel fans can fill the wait with The Punisher: One Last Kill.

Toy Story 5, Minions & Monsters, Hoppers and Coyote vs. Acme are for families, Masters of the Universe and Mortal Kombat II for action fans, and The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Scary Movie for laughs. Michael tells the story of Michael Jackson, and Disclosure Day is Steven Spielberg's new film.

New films reach the streaming services a few weeks or months after cinemas; add them to My List and check Watch Now.

Hollywood in 2025

Last year's Hollywood films are already streaming. Avatar: Fire and Ash continued James Cameron's Pandora saga, Zootopia 2 brought back Judy and Nick, Jurassic World Rebirth went back to the dinosaurs and Superman started a new DC chapter.

F1 was the racing hit, War of the Worlds the alien invasion, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning Tom Cruise's farewell to Ethan Hunt, and The Housemaid the twisty thriller. A Minecraft Movie was the family comedy of the year.

The 2025 Movies shelf gathers them with last year's Indian hits.

Bollywood classics

Bollywood Movies was the second shelf on the original menu, and the classics are its heart. Sholay is the film every Indian family knows by heart. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge made Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol the romantic pair of a generation, and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham followed.

Kal Ho Naa Ho, Devdas, Veer-Zaara, Mohabbatein, Dil Se.. and Main Hoon Na are the big emotional films, and Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India and Dil Chahta Hai opened a new chapter for Hindi cinema in 2001.

Bandit Queen, Monsoon Wedding and Hera Pheri complete a shelf of films worth watching again and again.

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan has more films on ExtraMovies than any other star. His comeback in 2023 was huge: Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki all came out in the same year. Before that came Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Don, Don 2 and Ra.One.

The romantic side runs from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Dilwale, and My Name Is Khan, Fan, Zero and Billu show his range.

Search Shah Rukh Khan and every one of his films comes up in one grid.

Salman Khan and the Tiger films

Salman Khan's films are made for the big screen. The Tiger spy series runs Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai and Tiger 3, and ties into War and Pathaan in the same spy universe.

The spy universe continues with War 2, which brings Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR together.

Student Of The Year, Ta Ra Rum Pum and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon are the lighter family films. The Comedy shelf holds them with the Punjabi comedies and the sitcoms.

The DC heroes have Smallville, Arrow and The Flash, and Lanterns continues the story this year.

The TV Shows page lists every show, sorted by what people are watching now.

Top IMDb

The Top IMDb page lists the best-rated movies and shows, counting only those with enough votes behind the score. The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Interstellar, Dangal, 3 Idiots and 12th Fail sit near the top.

The yellow star on every poster shows the same score, and the title page shows how many votes stand behind it.

It is the quickest answer when you have one evening and want it to count.

My List

My List sits in orange in the teal menu, where the original kept its Movie Request link. Press Add to My List on any title and it is saved in your own browser; My List then shows your saved titles as the same poster grid.

For a TV show, open a season and press Reached this episode on the row you finished, and the show's page and My List remember your place. Export writes your list to a small file, and Import reads it on another device.

Everything stays in your browser, private to you.

Watch Now and your country

Watch Now is the blue button that turns a choice into a film. Press it on any title page and the Where to Watch box opens. Pick your country once, press Watch Now again, and JustWatch opens with every service carrying the title there: Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, Zee5, SonyLIV, Apple TV and the free ones, each with its price.

Your country is remembered on every page, and you can change it any time, which is handy for families in India, the UK, the US, Canada and Australia sharing recommendations.

The How to Watch guide has the steps.

Quality, from 480p to 4K

The original site listed every film with its quality, 480p, 720p or 1080p, because quality mattered. Streaming apps choose the right picture for your screen and your connection automatically, and let you pick it yourself in their settings.

Choose Data Saver on a phone plan, and High or Best on home Wi-Fi for Full HD and 4K. Big films like Dune: Part Two, Oppenheimer and Kalki 2898-AD look spectacular in 4K on the premium plans.

The quality guide explains every label.

Subtitles and audio

Every streaming app has an Audio and Subtitles menu. Open it while the film plays to choose the soundtrack, English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and more where available, and the subtitles in the language you like.

Subtitles open up every shelf: a Malayalam comedy, a Marathi drama or a Chinese epic becomes easy to enjoy.

The subtitles guide and the Dual Audio guide walk through both.

Free options

Plenty of films stream free with ads. In India, JioHotstar, MX Player and YouTube carry free films; in the US and UK, Tubi, Pluto TV, Plex and The Roku Channel have large libraries of Hollywood and Indian titles.

Watch Now shows the free options for your country whenever a title has them, right beside the subscription and rental choices.

The free guide has more.

The app and the TV

The original site advertised its Official App in the menu, and ExtraMovies has one too, installed straight from your browser. On Android choose Install app in Chrome, on iPhone choose Add to Home Screen from Safari's Share menu, and on a computer use the install icon in Chrome or Edge.

On a smart TV, open the browser and go to ExtraMovies, or browse on your phone and cast from the streaming app.

The app guide and the TV guide have the steps.

The addresses

The name lived at extramovies.in and extramovies.org, and people have searched for it with many other endings over the years: casa, cc, hub, xyz, asia, wow and more.

The simplest way to always reach ExtraMovies is to install it as an app, so the icon on your home screen opens the right place every time.

The addresses guide tells the full story, and the quick fixes guide helps if a page ever loads slowly.

An ExtraMovies weekend

Need a plan? Friday night, Hollywood in Hindi: Fast Five or Avengers: Endgame. Saturday afternoon, a Bollywood classic: Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or 3 Idiots. Saturday night, a South Indian spectacle: RRR or Bāhubali: The Beginning.

Sunday, something lighter: Carry On Jatta for a Punjabi laugh, Toy Story with the children, and an episode of Panchayat before bed.

Next weekend, Latest Movies will have new releases waiting at the top.

Questions

What is ExtraMovies?

ExtraMovies is a catalogue of Hollywood, Bollywood, South Indian, Punjabi and animated movies with TV shows, laid out like the 2017 extramovies.in. Every title has its language, year and rating, and Watch Now opens it on the services carrying it in your country.

Is this the old extramovies.in?
